    In which category should I apply for for IES exam being a B.Tech (Chemical Engineering) student?

    Hi,
    I want to appear for IES exam.I am BTech in chemical engineering from Nagpur university.Please let me know under what category i can apply.

    candidates those who have the following qualifications only are eligible for IES.
    EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:

    civil engineering
    electrica engineering
    mechanical engineering
    electronics and telecommunication engineering
    M.Sc degree in wireless communication, physics, radio physics, radio engineering

    YOU are eligible and can apply for

    civil service exam
    Indian Forest service
    combined defence service

    hi, You are not eligible for IES exam

    It is nice that you want to join civil services exam which is conducted by UPSC.

    IES exam stands for Indian Engineering service.


    Eligibility;-

    1)you must be passed a B.tech degree from a recognized university

    ----civil engineering'

    -----mechanical engineering


    ----electrical engineering

    ----electronics and tele communication


    2)Age limits is 21-30 years. Age relaxation is given to reserved category students,

    3 years age relaxation for obc

    5 years for sc/st candidates

    10 years for ph candidates


    3) you must be Indian citizen.

    You can not apply with your qualification.You will have only 4 papers of engineering which is not related much with your stream.So it will not be suitable for you can better apply for Civil services exam if you want to appear for UPSc exams or there are several Maharatna and Navratna PSUs for which you can readily apply
