Am I eligible for UPSC exam as I am going to 30 yr old in Feb'13.

I have completed my Graduation in B.Sc.(Maths) & Masters in Labour Welfare. I hv more than 6 years experience.

Sir, my Dob is 04/02/1983 and I m going to complete my 30 yrs again coming Feb'13. I fall in General category.

Am I eligible to give UPSC exam in coming year. I m interested for IPS.

sorry to say that you are not eligible to apply for UPSC Civil Services Exam that is conducted for the post of IPS officer.

According to UPSC notification for general category candidate the age limit is 21 years to 30 years.
candidate must have attained the age of 21 years on 1 August of the year of exam and he/she must not have attained the age of 30 years on that day.

but according to your date of birth you will reach the age of 30 years on 04-February-2013. so you can't apply for the exam in 2013.

The age limit for civil service (IAS/IPS/IFS) examination is 21 years - 30 years on the 1st august of the year of the examination.

Now, on thew 1st august,2013 you will be 30 years 5 months 80 days old.

As you belong to general category you are not eligible for age relaxation.

Therefore, i am sorry to say that you are not eligible for civil service (IAS/IPS/IFS) examination 2013.

Accordind to your DOB you will turn 30yrs old on 4.02.2013.

The Age Limit for general category candidates is 21-30yrs on 1st August of the year of exam.

So your age should not be 30yrs or more on 1st August 2013.

Yes you are eligible for the IPS -2013 exam but that will be your last chance after that you will not eligible for the exam .

Because the maximum age limit for the general cast is 30 years so that this is your last chance for the exam .

So do your best in preparation point of view so that you will crack the exam in your last attempt .

there are three parts .
1) preliminary exam
2) main exam
3) interview

So first of all start the preparation for the preliminary exam .

For the IPS exam the age of the candidate on 1 August 2013 must not greater than 30 years.

But your age for the IPS exam 2013 has gone.

There is no relaxation for you because you are in General category so there is no age relaxation for you .

So You can not apply for the IPS 2013 exam.

to join IPS exam;-
you must be graduate from recognized university.
age limit is 21-30 years.
age relaxation is given to reserved category
for obc is 3 years

as graduation or engineering in any stream is the basic requirement

Sorry to say that you are not eligible for the civil services examinations that conducts examinations for IPS that is Indian police services as you have attained the age limitations of 30 years.

the date of notification of civil services 2013 is 02/03/2012 before that you have completed your age of 30 years.

Do not get frustrated there are lots of career option for you.

for example after doing your master's degree in any stream from a recognised stream ,you can go for the NET examinations conducted by University grants commission.

1.For lectureship the upper age limits is not defined.

2.for junior research fellowship it is 28 years.
