Being a soldier of Indian army am I eligible for IAS exam at the age of 39 years?

I am soldier ( Sipahi/Jawan ) of indian army , I am graduate & want try for IAS . My age is 39 years . Can I eligible for IAS exam ?

Eligibility for UPSC Indian Civil Service Examination

To apply for this examination you should have passed at least a bachelor's degree examination in any stream from a reputed institute or university

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines that is 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST and Ex-Servicemen and Government Employees and 10 years for PWD category candidates

As you have mentioned that you have completed 39 years of age that is why I would like to suggest you that you are not eligible to apply for this examination because maximum age limit for this exam is 30 years and if you are under OBC and Government employee then you will get - 3+5 years = 8 years upper age relaxation that will make you eligible only till 38 years that you have crossed secondly if you are under SC or ST and government employee so you will get relaxation of 10 years that is 5+5 for both sections so eligible till 40 years of age so you should know your personal criteria first and if your age is not being over than 40 years as on 01-01-2014 then you will be eligible to apply for Civil Service Exam 2014
