first of all i want to make you clear that there is no optional subject named Electronics Engineering in Civil Services mains exam. there is Electrical Engineering Subject to which you can select as your optional subject. there is no objection whatever subject you choose as your optional subject from the list of optional subjects. so don't worry and go ahead for preparation.
and i want to advice you be careful during selection of optional subject. you should choose the subject which is well known to you and in which you have interest. it will be helpful for you in preparation. for preparation gather study material and try to solve previous year papers. keep yourself motivated.
good Luck....
Electronics engineering isn't there in the optional subject list... Only electrical is available..... And try to take any easy subject so that you can clear the paper easily........

Hi,
You can choose any subjects from the list of optional subjects to crack Mains exam.
If you are BCA degree holder, then you can choose Electrical Engineering Subjects for Mains exam.
The following are list of Optional subjects;-
According to my view, you must be choose those subjects in which you have full Basic Knowledge or Your Field Related Subjects.
All the best..........................
hi
yes my friend as electrical engineering amongst the subjects that have been mentioned on the list for the mains examination optional subjects, you can take it as the subject for your mains.
You need to prepare very well for it as anything could be asked in the mains paper.
Firstly, there is no subject as Electronics Engg in the list of subjects fr CS Mains. There is in fact Electrical engg.
As you are a BCA candidate,I must warn you not to select Engg papers as you will never get through those in CS Mains. Even Engg students of Civil,Mechanical or Electrical do not opt for their own papers as engg subjects are relatively tougher to score higher. The ranks will be determined in overall context and not paperwise separately. So you should go for papers which you have basic ideas till matriculation such as geography,History,Public Administration etc. Do not go for engg papers if you are not an engineer. It will just lead to failure.
