    Dear Applicant,
    -You can definitely appear the CIVIL SERVICES exams after completing your BTech in Chemical Engineering.

    The complete eligibility criteria for the Civil Service exams are mentioned below ::

    {01} NATIONALITY.
    You must be a citizen of India,
    or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
    or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India before 1962.


    {02} AGE BOUNDARIES.
    You must be 21 to 30 years of age.
    However, the upper age limit is relaxable by :
    >> 5 years for SC/ST,Government Employees & ex-servicemen
    >> 3 years for OBC & Physically Disabled.


    {03} ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.
    You must have completed your Graduation or equivalent from a recognized university with any subject or stream.
    Final year students are also applicable.
    Only passing percentage is required.

    {04} NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS ALLOWED.

    For general category : 04
    For OBC candidates : 07
    For SC/ST candidates : Unlimited.


    -If you qualify the Civil Services exams completely,i.e. all the three phases completely [The Prelims,The Mains & The Interviews ] with a good rank ,, then there is no reason why you being a Chemical Engineer,cannot become an IAS officer.

    Hi Friend!!

    First, you need to know what is UPSC.

    UPSC is Union Public Service Commission which conducts many exams in which Civil Service Exam(CSE).

    CSE has a misnomer as 'IAS exam' or 'UPSC exam'.

    YES, you can definitely apply CSE after your graduation Chemical Engineering.

    The qualifications for the CSE are :

    Educational: Graduation

    Age: General:21-30yrs, OBC:21-33yrs, SC/ST : 21-35yrs

    Note: there is a considerable age relaxation for special category like Blind, Deaf-Mute, etc.

    Number of attempts: General : 4 , OBC : 7 , SC/ST : unlimited.

    dear friend,

    yes, a chemical engineer can apply for IAS exam.


    Eligibility Criteria:

    you must complete or appearing in final year of graduation from recognized college or university.

    your age must be within 21 years to 30 years.

    And there is relaxation in UPPER AGE limit for reserved category candidates(3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates).

    yes my friend .

    You can become an ias officer because there is no any
    special criteria for the upsc civil services examination.

    You just qualifies two qualifications only

    1. You must be an indian citizen

    2. You must be a graduate from a govt.recognized university.

    Age criteria:-

    21-30 fro generals

    21-33 for obc

    21-35 for sc/st.


    Don't worry if you are in between the criteria mentioned
    above than you are absolutely eligible .

    Hi Aspirant

    Yes a chemical Engineer also can become a Ias

    Officer and it does not matter that you are a chemical

    Engineer or not it matter how much hard working you are

    For the civil services Exam the Criteria:

    Educational Qualification:

    ~ The candidate should be pass in Graduation from a recognized Indian university

    ~ The candidate of the final year of graduation can also apply for the exam


    Age Limit:

    - The candidate age should be between 21-30

    - For the obc 21-33

    - For the ph 21-40

    - For the sc,st 21-35


    Number of Attempts:

    -For General: 4
    -For OBC : 7
    -For SC,ST : No limit

    dear friend

    yes,you can surely apply upsc examinations for becoming IAS officer.

    as you are a chemical engineer,you must have done your b.tech in chemical engineering and so the minimum qualification for upsc examinations for the post of IAS is bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university.

    you should also fulfil the other eligibility criteria like your age should be between 211-30 if you belong to open category.

    you should be indian.

    so,donot worry fill the application form at www.upsconline.nic.in .

    work hard for competing this examination because it is very tough as the no of seats are less and there are lots of aspirants every year.

    but consistent labour and regular effoert can fetch you success.

    of course you become the ias officer after complete the condition and the civil service exam. for become the ias officer, you give the civil service exam which notification is

    published on the news paper or the internet in the month of the december and the preliminary exam is held in the month of the may and the mains exam held in the month of

    the September/October.

    eligible criteria for the civil service exam is:-

    Well friend, yes you may become an IAS, after completing Chemical Engineering,
    Since according to norms of Civil services , you must be graduate from any specialization.


    Eligibility Criteria for Civil services :




    >> You must have done Graduation in any trade from any course from any Recongnised University by UGC , if Correspondence than DEC.




    >> Age Factor :

    Minimum age : 21 Years
    Maximum Age : 30 Years


    Relaxations for OBC : 3 Yrs in Maximum Age
    Relaxations for SC/ST : 5 Yrs in Maimum age.




    >> Number of Attempts allowed :
    General : 4
    OBC : 7
    SC/ST : No limit.




    >> You Must be Indian Citizen for that.

    yes dear you can apply for upsc civil services exam as you are a chemical engineer and you might have completed your degree from a recognized university under ugc .along with that you should check the information regarding the age criteria for civil services exam:
    age criteria :
    for generals- 21-30 years

    for sc/st- 21-35 years .

    Hey there...

    Yes, you can attempt the exam as you are a graduate.
    The criteria is as below:

    The candidate must be a graduate from any recognized university. Even final year pursuing graduates can apply.

    A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, in the year of examination.

    The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable in the follwing cases:

    Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe: upto a maximum of five years.
    Other Backward Classes: upto a maximum of three years.
    State of Jammu & Kashmir : upto a maximum of five years.
    Defence Services personnel : upto a maximum of five years

    No of attempts allowed:
    1. General - 4 years
    2. OBC - 7 years
    3. SC/ST - no limit
