Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Indian Police Service Examination 2013-14

Candidate must have completed bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or should posses any other equivalent qualification. Final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for this exam

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines that will be provided only to reserved category candidates as 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBCs

If you are going to receive PR - Permanent Resident Card of Canada to be the citizen of Canada then you should not worry about the eligibility criteria because that would be same as mentioned above but PR card is to be the citizen of canada and this is not related with IPS examination because to be eligible for IPS examination you should have above mentioned qualification and age limits and must have following eligibility too

    * For the Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India

Dear if you are Indian then you are eligible to apply for both IAS and IPS Examination but if you get the legal permanent residence in any other country then your application may be rejected because UPSC board is strictest body in India that do not forgive for any kind of mistake done by the candidate in selection process and if the board found you inaccurate at any stage of selection process then your candidature will immediately be cancelled by the board so think about your eligibility for examination

If you have legal permanent residence in India and your parents are also from India and have permanent resident in India from childhood and your birthplace is also in India then you will be considered Indian first and as you have mentioned that you are going to complete the duration of PR card of Canada that means you are not the Canadian yet but will be after getting this card legally from the government of Canada then you will get the nationality of Canada but do not worry because you are Indian from birth and this will make you eligible to apply for Indian Police Service Examination
