    Yes you can appear for the IAS/IPS exam conducted by the UPSC..



    Eligibility Criteria For IAS

    (i) Age limits :

    21-30 years as on 1.7.2012. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice).
    (ii) Educational Qualifications :

    Bachelor�s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification (Para 3(iii) of Notice).

    (iii) No. of permissible attempts :

    Four (Seven attemps of OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs (Para 3 (iv) of Notice)
    (iv) Fee :

    Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only)
    (No fee for SCs/STs/Physically disabled only)

    Yes IT student also eligible for giving the exam .
    IT students are eligible not only for UPSC exam but IES exam also .

    The criteria for the UPSC ( IAS , IPS , IFS ) exam is below :
    -> one should complete their graduation from any recognized university .
    -> one age should be between 21-30 for general cast , 21-33 for obc , 21-35 for sc/st , 21-40 for physically handicapped .
    -> Maximum 4 attempts are allowed for general cast , 7 for obc cast and no limit for the sc/st cast .

    The criteria for the IES exam is below :
    -> one should done their B.E. / B.Tech from any recognized university .
    -> one age should be between 21-30 for general cast , 21-33 for obc , 21-35 for sc/st , 21-40 for physically handicapped .

    The exam pattern in CSE and IES are different .

    Both have their own syllabus , subjects .

    so visit the upsc site and check the syllabus and structure for the exam and start the preparation for the exam .

    Hi Aspirant,

    Of course friend being an IT student you can appear in UPSC Civil service exam, IFS exam and CDS exam.

    You should only satisfy UPSC qualification Criteria.


    Qualification for UPSC exam

    You should be graduate in any stream.

    Final year student can also apply for UPSC exam

    No certain percentage of marks required.

    Age should be 21 to 30 years.

    You must be Indian.


    You can apply for UPSC exam through Online and offline process.

    For Offline registration purchase application form from Head post office.

    Yes,you are eligible for UPSC examinations being an IT student.

    IT stands for Information Technology.

    After having bachelor's degree in IT ,you are eligible for the following examinations conducted by UPSC :

    >>Civil services :

    >>Indian forest services

    >>Combined defence services.

    >>Central police force exams.

    >>Indian engineering services.


    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ALL THESE EXAMINATION:

    >>Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

    >>Age limitations: 21-30 for civil services,IFS,IES.

    >>For CPF;20-25 years

    >>For CDS : 19-25 years.

    Nationality:Indian.
