To be an IPS officer you will have to appear in the Civil Service Exam.
IPS stands for Indian Police Service exam.
Civil Service exam is organized by the Union Public Service Commission every year.
This exam is conducted once in a year.
For the preparation of Civil Service exam you need to study General Science, Math, reasoning, two optional subject as per your desire, English, Any one Indian language, essay writing etc.

After qualifying written exam you will be called for the Interview.

First of all to become an IPS officer you have to apply for Civil Services Exam that is conducted by UPSC every year . to appear in Civil Services exam you have to complete graduation
in any discipline from recognized college or university with any percentage.
Civil Services exam constitutes three parts:
1. CSAT
2. Mains
3. Interview
In CSAT exam is of Objective type and there are two papers from General Studies in CSAT. and For Mains you have to choose two optional subjects.
