    Hi Aspirant,

    To be an IPS officer you will have to appear in the Civil Service Exam.

    IPS stands for Indian Police Service exam.

    Civil Service exam is organized by the Union Public Service Commission every year.

    This exam is conducted once in a year.

    For the preparation of Civil Service exam you need to study General Science, Math, reasoning, two optional subject as per your desire, English, Any one Indian language, essay writing etc.


    Exam pattern and procedure

    Preliminary exam (400 marks)

    Interview and personality test (300 marks)

    After qualifying written exam you will be called for the Interview.


    If you qualify the Interview round then your name will be include in the final merit list.

    And as per your rank you will get the post.

    Hello,

    Five subjects like general science, GK, maths, Intelligence & reasoning & Essay writing you will have to clear if you want to get chance for final selection round.

    First of all to become an IPS officer you have to apply for Civil Services Exam that is conducted by UPSC every year .
    to appear in Civil Services exam you have to complete graduation
    in any discipline from recognized college or university with any percentage.


    Civil Services exam constitutes three parts:
    1. CSAT
    2. Mains
    3. Interview

    In CSAT exam is of Objective type and there are two papers from General Studies in CSAT. and For Mains you have to choose two optional subjects.

    To become an IPS officers you need to clear CSAT exam which is conducted by UPSC once in a year
    CSAT exam have three step
    prelim exam
    main exam
    interview

    Prilim Step
    2 papers 400 marks
    1- General Studies (200 marks)
    2- Aptitude Test (200 marks)

    Mains step:

    9 papers (Total 2000 marks)
    G.S. - 2 papers (300 marks each)
    First Optional - 2 papers (300 marks each)
    Second Optional - 2 papers (300 marks each)
    Essay paper - (200 marks)
    English -
    Indian language -

    Interview Stage (300 marks)

    After qualify main written you will be called for Interview

    if you qualify the written test, you will be eligible for the Interview.


    You will have to qualify all these three stage with the given subject in exam pattern.

    In mains exam you will have to choose two optional subject which is given in exam pattern.
