    Well Friend, being an OBC (other backward caste),you will get lots of previlege in UPSC Examinations.



    The benefits that will be provided to you are :

    1.In case of age all candidates belonging to OBC is given a age relaxation of 3 years that is for them age is 21-33 years where as for general candidate is 21-30 years and for sc/st it is 21-35 years.


    2.No of attempts:

    >>OBC candidate can appear for 7 times in the UPSC examinations like civil services IAS,IPS,IFS etc

    >>For general candidate it is 4

    >>For sc/st it is any no times that they can appear in all examinations that fall within their age limit.


    3.But one thing is common to all candidates that is the minimum qualification is graduation for all.

    >>Final year candidates can also apply for this examination.

    4.Nationality: Indian.

    GENERALS 4 attempts

    here is the eligibility criteria with limit number of attempts:

    Eligibility Criteria:

    1. Educational Qualification:
    Graduation in any stream.

    2. Age limit:

    1. For General: 21 years to 30 years.

    2. For OBC: 21 years to 33 years.

    3. For SC/ST: 21 years to 35 years.

    Limit Number of Attempts:

    1. For general: 4 attempts

    2. For OBC: 7 attempts

    3. For SC/ST: No Limit

    This Limit number of attempts are for only Civil Services and IFS exam. For other UPSC exams there is no limit of number of attempts for any category.

    the age limit for the obc category is 21 to 33 years.

    the attempt of the exam is 7 times.

    qualification required is the graduation in any stream from the recognized university.

    Dear,
    The age limit for the UPSC examination is 21-30years. The upper age limit is 03years for OBC and 05years for the SC/ST candidates. But there are some attempts to appear for each category. There is 04 attempts for General candidates, 07years for OBC candidates and unlimited attempts for SC/ST candidates till the last upper limit age. Thanks....

    graduates in any subjects form a recognized university under ugc within the age limit 12-30 years are eligible to apply for upsc exams like cds,civil services ,ifs,cpf etc this age limit is further relaxed for obc and sc/st aspirants by 3 years and 5 years respectively. but still there is a special no. of attempts for every candidate .
    no. of attempts:
    ::4 attempts for general category
    ::7 attempts for OBC category
    ::no limit for SC/ST category

    An obc candidate can give exam 7 times if he or she failed 6 times ..

    beside these you have to follow some criterias....

    you have to be graduate with passing marks from approved university or college.

    you have to be an indian

    age limit.....
    for open 21 to 30
    for onc 21 to 33
    for sc st 21 to 35

    no of attempts
    for open 4 attempts
    for obc 7 attempts
    for sc st no limit...

    Hey there...

    Below is the eligibility criteria to appear for the UPSC exams::

    A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, in the year of examination.

    The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable in the follwing cases:

    Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe: upto a maximum of five years.
    Other Backward Classes: upto a maximum of three years.
    State of Jammu & Kashmir : upto a maximum of five years.
    Defence Services personnel : upto a maximum of five years

    No of attempts allowed:

    1. General - 4 years

    2. OBC - 7 years

    3. SC/ST - no limit

    There is a limited number of time you can attempt UPSC exams .
    For General - 4 times
    For OBC - 7 times
    For Physical Handicapped - 7 times
    For Sc/ST No limit on number of attempts.

    Hi Aspirant

    The number of attempts are different for the different category

    candidates as to the obc it is different and to the general it is different

    Attempts :

    To the general candidates their is 4 attempts

    To the obc their is 7 attempts

    To the sc,st their unlimited attempts allowed

    Similarly in this manner age relaxation given to the obc

    in the age limit too as here is the age limit

    Age :

    Age limit for the general 21-30 years

    Age limit for the obc 21-33 years

    Age limit given to the sc,st 21-35 years

    And generally you can apply for ...


    For OBC ---- 7 TIMES

    For SC / ST ---- No limit

    For OC ---- 4 TIMES ...

    Hai,An other backward caste candidate can try 7 times for upsc examinations but he should be within the age limit of 21 to 33 years and should be a graduate in any stream..Thank you..

    An obc candidate can appear for the upsc exam within the age limit of 21-33 years of age. During this period of time, he/she can give the maximum 7 number of attempts for cracking the civil services examination.

    Dear UPSC board has made some rules and limitations for every category candidate related to appearing for examination and the details are following

    Age limit for UPSC civil service, Police Service, Forest Service, Engineering Service & Economic/Statistical Service exam : Minimum 21 years and should not be more than 30 years

    Age limit for UPSC Combined Defense Service - 19-24 years for IMA, 19-22 years for Naval and 19-23 years for Air Force Academy

    Age limit for UPSC Geologist Examination : Should not be less than 21 years and more than 32 years

    Age limit for UPSC Medical Service Exam : Should not be less than 21 years and more than 32 years

    Number of Attempts allowed to appear for various UPSC exams : UPSC has decided following number of attempts for every single UPSC exam according to the category

    General Category - 4 times only

    OBC Category - 7 times only

    SC and ST Category - No limitations but only till 35 years of age

    Presently UPSC has launched the notification for civil service and forest service exam and taking prelims commonly for both sectors and if you wish then you may apply for this exam between - 5-3-2013 to 4-4-2013

    • The civil services examination is organised by the UPSC every year.
    • For it, you must be citizen of India.
    • And then you must have completed your graduation degree in any stream from an recognised university.
    • The general category age limit is 21 years to 30 years.
    • But since you are from obc category you are provided age relaxations, so the age limit is 21 years to 33 years.
    • For the obc category, the number of attempts provided is seven.
    • You must have to provide your obc category certificate.
