upsc conducts many exams throughout the year and there is age relaxation for the sc/st and obc category candidates for applying for these exams.central government employees that are interested in upsc exam also get an additional age relaxation of 5 year more .
in your case as you are an obc aspirant for this you will get an age relaxation of 3 years and you are an central government employees too so you will get an an age relaxation of 5 years more .
so totally you will be given total age relaxation of 8 years .
but don't get confused about the number of attempts .the number of attempts for you will be same as that of the obc candidates that is 4 attempts.
Hi friend,
Yes, you may get relaxations in both but whichever has bigger relaxation will work...
But being employe of central govt. will only help in State level PSC.
Since UPSC only gives relaxations in terms of category, i mean :
>> in OBC
>> in SC
>>in ST
>> in PH
that's it.... so, try for relaxation in Your state level PSC.
Hope it helps!!

DEAR STUDENT,
IF YOU ARE COME UNDER OBC CATEGORY THE UPPER AGE LIMITS FOR UPSC EXAM IS 32 YEAR .THE RELAXATION 3 YEAR.
UPSC there is 5 years relaxation in upper age limit for central government employees who wish to appear in UPSC exams.
THANK YOU.
Dear
the age limit of the unreserved category is the 21 to 30 years.
for obc category the age relaxation is the 3 years.
the attempt chance for the obc category is the the 7 times.
the relaxation for the government employee.
best of luck for the future.
=> You can get the relaxation only for your OBC cast not on your Employee .
=>Because there are relaxation for the Ex-serviceman not the current employee and the ex-serviceman belongs to defense area like army , navy and air force then and then one can come under the ex-serviceman .
=> On the OBC relaxation you can get the relaxation in age criteria as well as in the number of attempts .
The Criteria for the OBC cast Candidates are below :
=> one should done the graduation from any recognized university .
=> Age limit is between 21-33 years .
=> Maximum 7 number of attempts one can give for the exam .
=> There are no other relaxation like marks in preliminary exam , main exam etc .
There will be same for all the candidates .
So you can't get the advantages which will provided to the Ex-serviceman .
good luck
It depends on which exam you apply
1) for civil services exam, there is no age relaxation for central govt. employees. You can only get age relaxation of 3 years as a OBC candidate
2) in case of central police force exam (for assistant commandants) you can get cumulative age relaxation both as a central govt civilian employee & as an OBC candidate.
OBC -3 years relaxation
central govt. employee- 5 years relaxation
so total of 8 years age relaxation
3) in case of Indian Engineering service exam, there is age relaxation only for certain govt. employees not for all. For list of such approved departments refer the attachment (page number 2) . under this category there is 5 years of age relaxation
yes you will get age relaxation,
upsc requires graduated candidates and those candidates who have completed graduation from a recognized university.
candidates who belongs to OBC category and SC/St category gets the age relaxation,
as you mentioned that you belong to OBC category so you will get age relaxation of 3 years,
for those candidates who belongs to OBC category,
age limit for such candidates is 21 to 33 years.
all the best
