While answering your question, I am assuming that you belong to general category and that is why you are asking such a question. As per my knowledge, UPSC calculates age of candidate on 1st of August and by this your age will be 29 on 1-8-2013, so you have one chance to give UPSC exam. Though I do not want to play spoilsport in your dreams, but I still want to ask you one question. Will you be able to prepare for such a big exam in such a short period? If your answer is YES, well GO ON.. and best of luck.

Yes you can apply for the civil services exam
but you must be filling the criteria for the exam
and if you are filling it than no doubt you can fill
the forms of the exam without any doubt and
just some qualifications required for this
Qualification Needs for the CSE Exam :
The Candidate should be pass in the graduation degree
Final year person can also write the exam
The age of the candidate should be between 21 to 30
The age of the candidate for the obc is 21 to 33
The candidate sc,st is 21-35
Attempts :
Their is 4 attempts allowed for the general
Their is 7 attempts allowed for the obc
Their is unlimited attempts for the sc,st

You must be an INDIAN Citizen
The minimum age must be 21 years
Maximum age is allowed up to 30 years
Still you are in 29 years old you can definitely apply for the exam ...

Its a good that you r a nurse but dear according to your dob your age will now 29 yrs... then you can obviously apply for civil service exam if you are belongs to SC/ST, or OBC category otherwise you can't apply...............

yes you can apply for Civil Services Exam in 2013. according to
eligibility criteria for UPSC you would not have attained the age
upper limit 30 years for general category on 1 august of the year of
exam. and on 1-08-2013 your age will be of 29 years and you have
last chance to apply.
Eligibility Criteria For Civil Services:
1. You need to complete or appearing in final year of graduation
from recognized college or university with any percentage.
AGE LIMIT:
General Category: 21 to 30 years
OBC Category: 21 to 33 years
SC/ST: 21 to 35 years
you must have attained the lower age limit on 1 August of
the year of exam and you should not have attained the upper age
limit on similar date.

Eligibility criteria to apply for UPSC Civil Services Exam 2013 :
Educational Qualification : Candidate must posses a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for Civil Services
Age Limitations : Candidate's age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age would be provided only for reserved category candidates as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates.
Dear Madam if you belong to general category then you have crossed the maximum age limit which is required for civil service exams but if you belong to either OBC or SC/ST then you may apply for this exam and OBCs can apply till 33 years but only for 7 times and SC/STs can apply for this exam till 35 years of age and there is no limit for attempt the exams for SC/STs
UPSC board has been announced the schedule for upcoming UPSC Civil services exam which is following :
1. Start date for online registration - 02-02-2013
2. Last date for online registration - 04-03-2013
3. Exact date for civil service exam - 19-05-2013
Examination pattern for UPSC civil services : There would be three steps in the complete procedure and you will have to qualify each and every step to become an IAS officer under the Central Government and if you fail in any stage then you would not be allowed for next step.
1. Preliminary Exam : Objective type examination has 2 papers which has 400 marks
2. Mains Examination : Conventional type examination has 9 papers which has total 2000 marks and you would be offered to choose any two subjects in this step.
3. Interview Process : If you qualify both of the above mentioned steps then you would be called for interview process and you will have to face interview and if you qualify the interview process then you would become an IAS officer in India.
