My D.O.B is 01.12.1982. Am I eligible for UPSC IAS exam-2013?

My date of birth is 01.12.1982.
Am i eligible to appear in the UPSC IAS exam 2013

The IAS(Indian administrative services) Exam is conducted by the UPSc.

Once can appear for this exam exam if he/she satisfies the criterion mentioned below-

1>you should be an Indian citizen

2>you should be between 21-30 years of age.

3> you should have a bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognized university.



As you have mentioned that your date of birth is 01/12/1982 .
so you are already 30 years of age now.
so you are not eligible for the exam.
if you belong to any reserved category then you can appear fr the exam as there are age relaxation for them.

The age limit of different categories for IAS exams
1)21 to 30 years for the general category.
2)21 to 33 years for the OBC.
3)21 to 35 years for the SC/ST,ex-service government.
4)21 to 40 years physically handicapped.

As your birth day is on 1/12/1982,you are now of 30 years 2 months ,hence you are eligible only if you belong to the reserved categories.

The criteria for appearing in Civil Services Exam is :
1. Nationality : Indian
2. Academic qualification : Graduate in any stream from any recognized university.
3. Age limits : 21-30 (OPEN), 21-33 (OBC), 21-35(sc/st).
4. Attempts : OPEN-4 , OBC-7 ,SC/ST-9 .

As you have completed 30 years of age; you are:
1. NOT eligible ifyou belong to OPEN category;
2. eligible if you belong to RESERVED category.

dear friend ,it is totally depend on category criteria: 1)21 to 30 for open category 2)21 to 33 for obc category 3)21 to 35 for sc/st category according to your D.O.B you are not eligible.but if you are belong to obc or sc/st category so you are eligible. but graduation are required for appear in the IAS Exam2013. good luck...
