IES stands for Indian Engineering Services. To appear in IES you must have Engineering degree.

Age limit for IES is 21 years to 30 years on 1 January of the year of exam.
you must have attained the age of 21 years on 1 January and you must not have attained the age of 30 years on that date.

so according to your date of birth you will reach the age of 21 years on 22 January 2013. so sorry to say that you can't apply for the exam in 2013.

but don't waste that time now you can start preparation for the exam.

Sorry to say at present you are not eligible for the exam, because the age limit of the exam is the 21 to 30 years. At time your age is the 20 years, next year 2013 you are eligible for the exam.
Qualification is required for the exam is the graduation in engineering from the approved university.
Age relaxation for the reserve category and also fee relaxation for the reserved category.
The attempt of the exam for general category for 4 times.
For OBC category attempt of exam 7 times
For SC/ST category attempt of exam no limit.

Yes, offcourse you are eligible for IES exam 2013 according to your dob but except it you should have engineering degree in any stream for this exam otherwise you are not applicable for this exam.

The age limit for both the IES that is for Indian Economic Services and Indian Engineering Services is minimum of 21 years.
The minimum age is for all categories.

Your date of birthday is 22/1/1992,means your age now is 21 years and 1 months,then you have attain the age that is required to apply for both the IES exams,as the age required is 21 years.

Dear according to your mentioned DOB you have completed your 20 years, 11 months and 10 days of your age as on - 01-01-2013 which is required by UPSC board so that i am really sorry to say that you are not eligible to apply for UPSC IES examination 2013 because the UPSC board requires the age as on 01-01-2013 for civil service/ forest service/ CDS and Engineering service examination so that you have not completed your 21 years of age as on 01-01-2013 that is why you would not be eligible to apply for IES Examination

You should not worry and start preparation for this examination and wait for next year's IES examination and till that time you need to prepare hard for this examination and when you get the notification of next year then apply and qualify the examination at once
