    Optional Subjects for the Main Examination:


    Optional subjects: Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Civil
    Engineering, Commerce and Accountancy, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Geography, Geology,
    History, Law, Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy,
    Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology,
    Statistics, Zoology.

    Candidates will not be allowed to offer the following combinations of subjects :


    � Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration
    � Commerce & Accountancy and Management
    � Anthropology and Sociology
    � Mathematics and Statistics
    � Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.
    � Management and Public Administration
    � Of the Engineering subjects, viz., Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering
    � not more than one subject.
    � Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science

    from the above list only you have to choose.
    my suggestion is choose MATHEMATICS & any of the science subject. or history or geography.

    Civil service main exam:


    Economics , Electrical Engineering,Geography, Geology ,History, Law,Management,Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology,Statistics, Zoology, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Anthropology,Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce and Accountancy.


    You can choose the subject in sense of your strength .


    The IAS selection process is consist in three way


    1)Preliminary exam
    2)Main exam
    3)Inter View.

    Hey friend,

    There are many entrance exams which are being conducted by UPSC and for joining in for the post of IAS Officer you need to write the IAS ExamThis exam is conducted every year.

    For applying for this exam you need to satisfy the eligibility criteria which consist of:

    You need to be a citizen of India

    The age limit for the exam is that you need to have 21-30 years for General Category

    For other category there are certain upper age relaxations

    Education qualification for the exam is that the candidate must have completed a degree form a recognized university with a fair percentage


    Being a B.Tech graduate you are eligible for the exam as regarding the education qualification,but you need to satisfy all the criteria's framed for the exam.


    The candidates are selected for the post through:

    Preliminary Exam
    Main Exam
    Interivew


    There are optional subject which you can choose for these exams and they are:

    Being B.tech student is also eligible for the IAS Examination.

    IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service This exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission For Every Year and this exam have there stages.

    Preliminary Exam

    Written Main Exam

    Personal Interview

    This is the entry level exam for IAS.if you qualified the Preliminary Exam then you go for Written Main examination

    You can choose the subject for your relating course and main exam have 24 optional subject and you qualify this exam then you can go for the interview.

    BUT AS YOU ARE a STUDENT OF ENGINEERING THAN I ADVISED YOU TO TAKE PHYSICS AND MATHEMATICS AS MAIN SUBJECTS.

    Selecting the subjects completely depends on your interest itself.

    Select the subjects based on your interest.

    But I'd suggest you to go with Public Administration as one of your subjects.

    according to the eligibility criteria for the civil services exam
    aspirant completed graduation or engineering from a
    recognized university under ugc to become eligible to apply for this examination.


    upsc civil services examination is carried out in two parts
    PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
    MAINS EXAMINATION


    the preliminary examination is same for all the aspirants.
    in the preliminary examination there are two papers of general knowledge .
    for the mains examination the aspirants are needed to select two subjects of his choice and interest.
    in the mains examination there will be two papers of each of the selected subjects
    out of nine papers of the mains examination.

    being a student of electronic and communication engineering
    you should take your engineering field as one of your subject for the mains examination.
    while for the other optional subject you should probably go for some easier subjects like geography,history,etc
    in this way you can give more time for your engineering subjects .

    and if you have another opinion then you can go through the list of
    subjects you can take for the upsc civil services MAINS EXAMINATION .

    Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science,
    Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering,
    Commerce and Accountancy, Economics,
    Electrical Engineering, Geography, Geology,
    History, Law, Management, Mathematics,

    You must choose those subject in which you have full knowledge as well as interest.
