    Dear friend

you should first find your keen of interest where you want to go because no one knows you more better than you so,first make your mind as to go for ias/ips or so many ....set your target to achieve your target .

don't worry about your percentage because no matter your percentage may be more or may be less .you just have to work hard for your upsc exam.you are completely eligible for upsc exam you just have to be a graduate from a recognized university.

    Dear Aspirant,
-THERE IS NO PERCENTAGE BAR IN APPEARING THE EXAMINATIONS CONDUCTED BY THE UPSC.
-THE MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT IS ATTAINING THE PASSING PERCENTAGE,IN YOUR BTech EXAMS,or EQUIVALENT.
ALSO,TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION IS THAT THE UNIVERSITY UNDER WHICH YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR BTech IS A RECOGNIZED ONE.
-FINAL YEAR APPEARING CANDIDATES ARE ALSO ELIGIBLE TO APPLY.
-THE NATIONALITY OF YOURS MUST BE AN 'INDIAN'.
-The examinations conducted by the UPSC,which you can undertake after completing your BTech,or being in the final year are listed below-
    # CIVIL SERVICE EXAMS#
    # INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE EXAMS#
    # INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAMS#
    # COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE EXAMS# #CENTRAL POLICE SERVICE EXAMS#
-They all have a separate set of Age criteria though.
-Hence you need to be very specific about which exam you want to appear for,and then start your preparations for the same, henceforth.
-Remember,that the UPSC conducts the exams for among the Highest CivilIan Posts of the country. Therefore,it won't be easy anyway.
-It will require a lot of hard work, dedication and a positive attitude.
-For further details, and notifications regarding the exams,You can always visit the official website of the UPSC-
    www.upsc.gov.in
-To apply OnLinE for the exams, visit the website-www.upsconline.nic.in
-You may also avail the forms from your nearest authorized Post Office to apply OFFLINE.

And for the exam you just need to be pass in graduation

Here is the full details :

-Or final year student can also apply for the exam

-The candidate should be a citizen of India

And the answer for your question that you are a 3rd year b.tech

Student and when you will be eligible for the exam and the required % for the exam

And the answer is next year in 4th year or after completing your b.tech you will be eligible to write the exam

Dear, As a B.Tech (ECE) you have to take another subjects for Optional Papers. But you are eligible for UPSC Exams. Its better to go for Higher Studies at First but if you have family burdens than its better to go for serious preparation for UPSC Exams. and you will feel good to know that it doesn't matter what marks you have score in your Academic life, but it matters how much you have score in UPSC EXAMs. because on basis of this you will be appointed for the job.... So, take care about it ....Good Luck....
