Union public service commission is a constitutional body (meaning that all rules regarding their functions, eligibility of members etc are specified in Indian constitution and it cannot be changed except by an amendment in parliament). It consists of a chairman and seven other members appointed by the president.
THey conduct recruitment for various top level posts in the country such as IAS,IPS etc. they also concerned with promotion and performance aspects of the selected candidates. UPSc also helps state public service commissions with their knowledge and expertise.

The aspirants has to procure the application form from any of the post office/head post office & sent the filled application form to the secretary of UPSC.The examination rules and details published by the newspapers like Employment news,Rozgar samachar and some leading newspapers.
The examination devided in to 3 parts:
1.Preliminary.(Objective type)(conducted in May)
2.Main written exam.(conducted during october/november)
3.interview and final selection (during April/may)
Those candidates who have qualified in the preliminary exam are appear the main exam .once you are qualified the test the final stage is inteview.
