Dear for your kind information that IRS stands for Indian Revenue Service that comes under the rank of IAS - Indian Administrative Service called IAS Officer and IRS rank has no separate examination because UPSC conduct Indian Civil Service Examination once a year where IRS also is under Indian Civil Service Examination so if you wants to become IRS Officer in India then you will have to be passed in ICS examination in both prelims and mains then get through in interview and score good marks so your marks could be considered enough for IRS Officer post

This year's Indian Civil Service Examination (Preliminary) has been conducted at 26th of May 2013 and all those candidates who will qualify prelims examination will have to appear for main examination (Seven conventional papers) from 1st of December 2013 and further according to mentioned date in call letter for all papers so remember that passing in both prelims and mains is necessary then you will be called for personality test

Personality Test contains 275 marks and total marks for main exam are 1800 so your final selection will be finalized out of 2075 marks and as for as my knowledge is concerned that you will have to score more than 1200 in main examination and around 75% marks in personality test then you will be finally selected for IAS officer and as you prefer for IRS so your rank of exam should come under that criteria which is required to become IRS officer as top 50 highest scorers will be shortlisted for IFS - Indian Foreign Service then less scorers for IAS officer then less scorers for IPS Officer and this system followed for IRS officer post too but I would suggest you to score more and more marks so you will have no problem in your final selection

Next civil service prelims examination is possible to be held around April-May 2014 so you should start preparation for this examination to get qualified easily

So, you have to be apply and prepare for CSAT examination itself.
