dear friend,
as you are from Civil Engineering, you must choose Civil Engineering and Mathematics as optional subjects. as both are related to your stream. and you have knowledge of these subjects.
Good Luck...........
DEAR,
according to me as you are the student of civil engineering than you should take either PHYSICS or MATHEMATICS with CIVIL ENGINEERING AS IN OPTIONAL SUBJECTS .
BECAUSE I THINK THAT ENGINEERING STUDENTS HAVE GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF MATHEMATICS AND PHYSICS BOTH SO YOU CAN CHOOSE ONE OF THEM WITH YOUR ENGINEERING SUBJECT (civil).
For civil engineering student , Civil engineering subject is included in the list of optional subject so that you can select this subject as one optional subject .
Now for the second optional subject you should select Maths because in engineering you leared all the maths and syllabus of the maths subject is also same as whatever you studied in engineering so that you will feel comfortable in that subject .
So for my opinion you should select maths as a second optional subject .
But if you weak in maths and you have interest in other subject like history , geography , zoology then choose that subject .
But please take care while choosing the subject .
good luck
Dear Friend
The best optional subjects for a civil engineer would be the subjects of the Civil engineering and the maths..
there will be subjective papers for both the optional subjects..
Best of Luck

Hi Aspirant
UPSC Stand for the Union Public Service Commission
And they are conducting one of the difficult exam
And conducting the upsc civil services exam
For the posts like Indian Administrative Service
For the exam the candidate should be pass in graduation from a recognized Indian university
And the age should be between 21-30
And from a the point of choosing optional subjects
It will depend on your choice rather than our choice
But you can choose the arts subjects
Because they are scoring subjects
And you will get benefit of it
But all depend on you
So choose the subjects in which you have interest
Best of luck
