yes a bca student can appear for cds examination, the eligibility criteria for cds examination is a graduation degree from an ugc recognised universityin any field.
the age limit for cds examination is 19-25 years.

CDS ELIGIBILITY:-

3.Male/Female both can write CDS examination.

Yes a BCA student can appear for CDS examination but that student can only go for Indian Military Academy(IMA) and Air Force Academy(on only condition that he/she had Physics and Mathematics in 10+2 Board examination).
He/she cannot select Indian Naval Academy.
Some other eligibility criteria for appearing in CDS examination are:-
1.Youshould be a citizen of India.
2.Agelimits are-
ForIMA(Indian Military Academy) 19-24 years
ForAFA(Air Force Academy) 19-23 years
ForINA(Indian Naval Academy) 19-22 years
ForOTA(Officers Training Academy) 19-25 years
3.Candidatesmust be physically fit according to physical standards for admission toCombined Defence Services Examination standards.

Following are the criteria for the 4 modules coming under CDS:
IMA Indian Military Academy- Age limit 19-24years.Only males allowed for IMA. Qualification Graduatein any stream from a recognised University.
OTA Officer Training Academy- Age limit 19-25years. Male females both allowed. Graduate in any stream from recognised University are allowed.
AFA Air Force Academy- Age limit 19-23years. Only males allowed. Qualification-Degree in engineering OR degree in any discipline but having Physics and Maths at 12th level compulsory.
INA Indian Naval Academy- Age limit 19-22years. Only males allowed. Qualification degree in engineering or degree in Physics or degree in Maths.
