Yes a person can attempt both the exam CDS I and CDS II in the same year. CDS stands for Combined defense services. this exam is conduct by UPSC twice in a year.

there is no attempt limit. you can attempt CDS exam till the age of 25 year.

YES YOU CAN ATTEMPT BOTH THE CDSE EXAMS IN A YEAR.
There is no problem in attempting twice CDSE exams in a year.The CDSE has no restrictions in the number of attempts.
You can attempt it as many times you want to a year,means as many times you want to attempt.
The only thing you will have to take care off is that your age must not cross the limit,means you can attempt the CDSE as many times within the age limit as declared by the UPSC.

Yes you can apply for CDS I and CDS II in the same year there is no restriction on that. There is no limit for number of attempts you can apply as many times you like till you satisfy the basic eligibility criteria.
The eligibility criteria for CDS Exam are as follows:
Nationality:
The candidate must be Indian.
Age Limit: Male candidates (Unmarried) of age between
(i) For IMA: 19-24 years.
(ii) For Indian Naval Academy: 19-22 years.
(iii) For Air Force Academy: 19-23 years.
(iv) For OTA: Male candidates (married or unmarried) of age between 19-25 years.
(v) For OTA: Unmarried Women of age between 19-24 years.
Educational Qualification:
(i) For I.M.A. and OTA: Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
(ii) For Indian Naval Academy: Degree in Engineering.
(iii) For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
Final year students can also apply.

Yes you can apply/appear in the CDS I and CDS II Exams in the same year.
You can attempt the CDS exams every year twice until you meet the eligibility criteria of age limit.
You can keep applying to CDS Exams until you attain the maximum age limit i.e.25yrs.
