    Dear pal,
    • Number of attempts depend upon the category to which you belong to and you need to make use of the opportunity within the age limit corresponding to your category
    • For general category maximum of four attempts is provided to them if necessary one must make use within a period of 30 years of age. If you belong to general category them you can make the 2 attempts that is left for you.
    • For BC, MBC aspirants maximum of 7 attempts is provided within a age limit of 33. In such case you are left with 5 more attempts.
    • For SC , ST aspirants there is no restriction in the number of attempts so you can appear any number of times within age limit of 35 . The same holds good for physically challenged aspirants.
    • Attempting more number of times is of no use try to do well in the single attempt itself by preparing well for the exam.

    Dear Aspirant

First you have not given your full details means in which category

You belongs in reserve or in general category

Then dear if you are in general category then their is 2 attempts left for you

As their is 4 attempts for the general category candidates And age limit for general 21-30

But if you are in obc then dear you have 5 attempts left

As the total attempts is 7 for the obc candidates

And your age for obc is left around 5 years And age limit for obc 21-33

And if you are sc/st category candidate then you can give the exam as many times you want

But the age limit for the sc.st is 21-35

    Best of luck

your age at the time of next years notification as this years examination has already been conducted

1.08.2013 - 20.07.1985= 28 years 10 days only we will ignore THESE 10 daays during our analysis

for GENERAL age limit 21-30 years along with 4 chances
------------>>>>>>>> so if you falls within this category still you have 2 chances within your age limit.

for OBC age limit 21-33 years along with 7 chances permissible
------------>>>>>>>> so if you falls within this category still you have 5 chances within your age limit.

for SC/ST age limit 21-35 years along with UNLIMITED chances
------------>>>>>>>> so if you falls within this category still you have UNLIMITED chances within your age limit.

    good luck

    hi
as your birth is of 1985, for the time being you have 2 more attempts left with you in the coming two years. Because as per the upsc rules, you can give the exam between the age limit of 21-30 years of age and the number of attempts offered are 4. As you have already used your 2 attempts earlier, you have 2 attempts left in the upcoming 2 years.

You have not mentioned your category. The number of attempts and age limit for different categories are listed below:
    General 21-30years-4 attempts
    OBC 21-33years-7attempts
SC/ST 21-35years- Unlimited within the maximum age.
So you can now calculate number of attempts based on your category
