Hi Aspirant,
CSAT stands for Civil Service Aptitude Test. The level of CSAT exam is quite high and tough.
It is one of the toughest exam of India which are conducted for the most reputed job of India.
Through CSAT exam you can be appointed as IAS, IPS or IRS Officer in Central Government.
CAT exam is not equivalent of CSAT exam it is fully different and is organized for the admission in MBA.
Means after cracking CAT exam you can get admission in the best MBA colleges of India.
It is also tough exam but not like Civil Service exam.
Civil Service exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
This exam is organized once in a year at All India level and candidates who have completed their graduation in any steam can apply. Candidates age should be between 21 to 30 years. Age relaxation is also application in civil service exam.
SC/ST candidates get 5 years relaxation in age, OBC candidates get 3 years age relaxation and physically handicapped candidates get 10 years of relaxation in age. You should be the citizen of India.
Exam Pattern for Civil Service exam
Prelims exam ( 400 marks)
General Studies I ( 200 marks)
General Studies II ( 200 marks)
Mains exam (2000 marks)

After qualifying written exam you will be called for the Personality test and Interview.
Important dates for Civil Service Exam
Notification Date: 2/2/2013
Last date of Application: 4/3/2013
Prelims exam date: 19/5/2013
Mains exam date: 8/11/2013
