    After Bachelor in engineering ,you need to fulfill some other eligibility criteria for the UPSC exams and they are:

    1.Age criteria:

    >>For general category aspirants : 21-30 years.

    Relaxation is provided to OBC and SC/ST in age .

    >>For obc: 21-33 years.

    >>For sc/st: 21-35 years


    2.You must be an Indian citizen .

    3.You will be eligible for the following examinations after bachelor of engineering:

    >>IF you have completed your bachelor of engineering in followling trades like:


    1.Civil engineering

    2.Electrical engineering

    3.Electronics & communication

    4.Mechanical engineering

    then you will be eligible for the IES (Indian engineeirng services).


    >>Combined defence services examination

    >>Civil services examinations

    >>Central Police force examinations.

    You can appear in mainly two exams conducted by UPSC.

    They are Combined as follows:

    1.Combined Civil Services Exam

    -Elgibility is graduation in any discilpline from a UGC Recognised University.
    -Age Limit 21-30yrs & relaxation for reserved candidates as applicable.

    2.Engineering Services Exam

    -Civil engineering,Electrical engineering,Electronic & Telecommunicatin Engineering,Mechanical engineering
    are the categories which can apply to the exam.
    -Age limit 21-30yrs on 1st August of the year of exam with relaxation to reserved category candidates.

    Hi Aspirant,


    After completing bachelor degree in engineering you can apply for UPSC IES exam.

    IES stands for Indian Engineering Service.

    UPSC conducts the recruitment for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer through IES exam every year.


    Eligibility for IES exam

    You must have BE or B. tech degree from recognized university or its equivalent.

    Candidates who have completed M. Sc. From wireless, radio or Electrical can also apply for IES exam.

    Final year candidates can apply for IES exam

    Age must be 21 to 30 years

    Age relaxation for SC/ST + 5 years and OBC + 3 years.

    You must be Indian.
