    HELLO ,

IN DEFENSE THERE IS CERTAIN TIME OF BOUNDATION, SO , ITS UR DEPARTMENT TO PERMIT YOU, AND YOU HAVE TO SEND APPLICATION THROUGH PROPER CHANNEL. AND YOU HAVE TO OPT NOC FROM UNIT.

AS, U R MAJOR, SO U R CLASS ONE AND YOUR GRADE PAY WILL BE MORE THAN 5400 ,, SO I THINK .... REPEAT .... I THINK ,,,, Not clear n final ,,,, ARMY WILL NOT PERMIT YOU .

STILL ,, TRY = ALL THE BEST.!

    Jai hind,
res major, upsc is permitting for def prsonnel, having 5 yrs service, upto age of 35 years , (gen candidate).

Its army who will stop u from apply , as ur grade pay now in army , will be more than 5400, so , as a matter of carrer enhancement, u will not be permitted , and ur bond suppose to be for 15 years in present job.

So, u will attain more than 35 yrs age, and that time also u will not get benefit/chance.

In my view upsc rule for age relief is not good, as present ex-serviceman rule ,,, modified in 2012 ... Is not covering all ex-serviceman personnel.

    Army bond- 17 yrs,
    navy bond = 15 yrs
    iaf bond = 20 years .

In this case non-officer ranks will not get chance to apper in ias type papers.

Rules are just to give mental relief on papers, not a true justification.

In my view upsc must permit in all papers upto 42 years , ias / assistant cdts / afs / etc papers,

    regards !

    Hi

    Yes

Of course you can apply for the IAS exam.

The minimum qualification for the IAS exam is that you must have a graduate degree and your age must lies in between 21-30 years.

If your age is in between 21-30 years then you can apply for the exam.

There is a age relaxation in the BC & SC/ST categories.

Also he has good benifit .
A gov. server has 2 year relable for this exam.
