Yes, you can appear in both exam if you are graduate from recognized university. And one thing according to me if you choose one post on focus only on one exam that is better for you bcoz if you focus both post then you can be confused to take both exam. So, focus only one exam which you desire best for your future.

Yes,why not you are absolutely eligible for both the examinations but you should fulfill the eligibility criteria for both the examinations that are as below:
First of all for the civil services examination ,you should be a bachelor degree holder in any stream from a recognized university .Final year candidates can also apply for the examinations.
Your age should be between 21-30 years .You must be an Indian Citizen.Reservation is applicable to obc and sc/st.
The important dates are date of registration starts form 02/02/2013 and will end on 04/03/2013.The date of preliminary examinations is 19/05/2013.
Now coming to the CDS that is Combined defence services examination.This examination is held twice every year by the UPSC.
For this examination also bachelor 's degree is the minimum requirement for the examinations.
The age limit is :
IMA:19-24 years
INA:19-22 years
OTA:19-25 years.
You should be physically fit.
The important dates are date of registration for the CDS II is 25/05/2013 and will end on 24/06/2013.Examination will be held on 08/09/2013.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC CDS - Combined Defense Services
Indian Military : Should posses a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for this exam and age should not be less than 19 years and more than 24 years
Indian Navy : Should posses a bachelor's degree in engineering in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible and age should not be less than 19 year and more than 22 years
Indian Air Force : Should posses a bachelor's degree with mathematics and physics as a compulsory subject and age should not be less than 19 years and more than 23 years
Eligibility Criteria for Civil Service Examination 2013 :
Should posses a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for this exam
Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age would be provided as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates
Dear there is no problem to apply for more than 2 exams at the same time or same year which are under the UPSC board because there is no such type of restriction or bar decided by the UPSC board means if you contains enough eligibility criteria according to the requirement of the post then you can apply for that exam without any hesitation

You just need to meet the minimum eligibilty criteria to apply for both the exams.
To appear in the UPSC civil services exams you need to be a graduate.

For CDS you need to be a graduate for the IMA and OTA wing

If you are pursuing the final year of degree or appearing for final year examination or awaiting for result of your graduation then also you are eligible to apply for CDS exam.
Those candidates who are having only a bachelor degree in any discipline are only allowed to appear for Indian Army posts but if the candidate having a degree with mathematics and physics as a compulsory subject then the candidate can apply for Indian Navy and Indian Air Force posts.
Final Year candidates can also apply for the exam.

You give the both simultaneously, It is totally depend on your hard work and time management, how you manage you preparation simultaneously both exam. Both of the exam is conduct by upsc every year.
