Of - Course Dear, you are eligible but you have to opt different subjects as your Optional subjects for the UPSC Exam. because, Production Engineering as an Optional subject is not included in the list of Optional Subjects as prescribed by the UPSC. Since you are from Science Background go to chemistry, physics, bio, zoology, maths etc. for Optional Subject. Good Luck....

Re: Are production stream graduates eligible for UPSC exams?

you have not mentioned for which UPSc exam. UPSc conducts a lot of examination
    1) civil services exam
    2) combined defense services exam
    3) central police force exam
You are eligible to all the above mentioned exams. For these exams, minimum educational qualification is a bachelor's degree from any recognised university.
But there are different age criteria. For Combined defense service exam & CPF , age limit 19-25 years.
For civil services, age limit is 21-30 years for general candidates. 21-33 for OBC ans 21-35 for SC/ST
    4) Indian Engineering service exam
For this exam, all engineering students are eligible. since upsc does not have production engineering as one of the subject, you have to write one of the 4 below mentioned subjects mechanical, civil,Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication.
Age limit is same as civil services exam.
number of attempts is also there- 4 for general category,7 for OBC, no limits for SC/ST
    for more details visit upsc.gov.in
