If you have passed your class 12th with science subject then there are so many ways for you to join any degree course and you can choose any subject what you want but you should see your interest first means in which field you are more interested and you should choose that subject to study in graduation and you can choose any one of following specialization course for your degree study :
1. Biology
2. Botany
3. Zoology
4. Chemistry
5. Microbiology
6. Industrial Microbiology
7. Biotechnology
8. Seed Technology
9. Horticulture
10. Agriculture
11. Entomology
12. Biological Engineering
13. Chemical Engineering
14. Computer Science
15. Life Science
You can choose any subject and there are some subjects also which are decided by UPSC board which you may choose only after qualifying the preliminary exam.
If you want to become an IAS Officer then you should know that any degree graduate whose age is between 21-30 years may apply for this exam means there is no subject profitable for you in preliminary exam and it is the rule that if you could not qualify in prelims then you would be declared as fail then you can not apply for mains exam so that you will have to study hard for that exam and you should start your study as soon as possible so that you could prepare for a long time for Civil Services and you could qualify the exam at once.
All the best
Hello Friend,
As of now, a civil aspirant has to choose two subjects for mains exam. I hope you know about the exam pattern. At this stage of your academics, you should rather focus on other things than worrying about the subjects. The other things include:
1- Reading a good daily say The Hindu or The Indian Express daily without fail. Analyze the news given under various section like economy, national, international etc.
2- Reading NCERT books thoroughly for History, Geography, Polity (Our Constitution -- do you know how many Fundamental Rights a citizen of India enjoys?), Economics etc.
3- Inculcating a habit of asking questions to yourself and to others, observing things, events happening around you.
4- Honing your English language skills for writing quality essays.
The above mentioned things will prepare your base. At the time of full fledged preparation, your already built base leave you will ample time to study other subjects. (Moreover, there is a buzz that UPSC is going to change its mains pattern. So focus on building the base rather than starting top-down).
And, do you graduation in whatever stream you LIKE and do not choose your stream just because it will help you in civil services exam. When you choose things of your liking, you pay more attention to it, it interests you and thus you end up in putting less effort.
If you have any further queries, do write.
BEST WISHES.
Thanks,
goyalk
Hello
There are different subjects that you will have to learn, but the best way is to go for arts after 10+2.
The IAS stands for Indian administrative services, means services provided to the civilians in the administration,as the name suggests you will have to service the Indian administration, and it is a common sense that you need to know different facts about Indian culture,to service them.
The services provided by IAS all are very much related to Indian culture,as it is Indian administrative services so you will have to learn facts like Indian history,Indian geography etc everything that will make your knowledge even strong about Indian culture, the Indian constitution, everything that is connected to India and you must know that only arts is that stream which provides such facilities
Dear aspirant you can be a graduate from a recognized University in any discipline to become an IAS officr. As per your chioce you can choose civics/political science or History in IAS main subjects. So it is clear in graduation you can opt any subject any stream, there is no restrictions as per UPSC who conduct's IAS Exam.
Thanks.
There is no specific subject is required for ias you have to just complete your graduation degree and you can seat for exam
you can choose any stream either science arts or commerce or science choose the stream in which you have more interest
so you can decide the ias mains subject
if you go for arts stream than you have a advantage for general study papers:
But ias is very tough and certain carrier so think before choosing any stream because you should have a back up plane so you dont clear ias in that case you have an opportunity for other fields
start preparing for basics of general study it will help you in future
* Good to know that you wish to become an IAS officer....!
* You can do the graduation of your interest....! It does't matter....!
* The eligibility is that you have to be a graduate of any discipline...thats it...!
* So no problem if it is going to be arts, engineering or medicine....!
* Choose anything of your own interest....But study that well...so that you can also take it as a optional subject at the main exam.....!!
