Sorry to say but there are no age relaxation for PSU employess in IES exam .

PSU employees are treated as a normal candidates , there are no such relaxation in any criteria .

They have to fulfill the same criteria as mentioned by the normal candidates .

They have to fulfill the below criteria for the IES exam .

==> one completed B.E. / B.Tech from any recognized university .
==> age should be between the following limits .
21-30 for general cast
21-33 for obc cast
21-35 for sc/st cast
21-35 for ex-serviceman
21-40 for physically handicapped

So there are age relaxation for ex-serviceman who served in defense area like army , navy or air force .

So one have to fulfill the same criteria as fulfilled by the normal candidates .

Sorry to say that there is no age relaxation for PSU employees in UPSC Engineering Services exam. In regards of age relaxation PSU employees also get same benefits which is same as for other candidates.

Following is the list of Age Limits:-
1. General caste- 21-30
2. OBC - 21 - 33
3. SC/ST - 21- 35
4. handicapped & belongs to General caste- 21- 40
5. handicapped & OBC - 21-43
6.handicapped & SC/ST- 21-45

The Age Limit for UPSC Engineering Services Exams is 21-30yrs for candidates in the General category.

Yes there is age relaxation for some categories of PSU employees in the UPSC Engineering Services Exams.

The Upper Age Limit of 30yrs is relaxable to 35yrs in case of Govt.Servants of some categories,if they are

employed in a Department/Office under the control of authorities as mentioned in the UPSC notification

like Railways Deparment,Central Public Works Department,Military Engineer Services,etc.

OBC:21-33 years

SC/ST: 21-35 years.


Educational qualification:

for applying in UPSC IES exam you must satisfy the following eligibility criteria.


Eligibility Criteria:

1. Engineering degree in any stream.

2. Age Limit:

• General: 21 years to 30 years
• OBC: 21 years to 33 years
• SC/ST: 21 years to 35 years

THe following govt. servants can claim age relaxation for a maximum of 5 years on the upper age limit.
1) Railway dept
2) central public works department
3) Military Engg service
4) Central water commission
5) Directorate general, ordinance factories
6) Central Electrical authority
7) Indian navy
8) Department of Telecom
This relaxation will not be applicable to probationary officers in the dept. during their period of probation.
