I tell you the obc category, general category and the sc/st category age limit for civil service exam and the ies exam.

the age limit is for general category is 21 to 30 years. and attempt the exam 4 time.

the age limit is for obc category is 21 to 33 years ( 3 years relaxation ). attempt the exam 7 times.

Let me first tell you something about IES exam.

IES exam stands for Indian Engineering Services exam. The entrance exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to the posts of Indian Engineering Service. IES are the technical services that meet the technical and managerial functions of the government of India.
The middle management positions in the bureaucracy are filled through competitive exams. Large number of people take these exams competing for limited seats.It is considered to be one of the toughest exams due to the limited number of seats available.

See,for the General category candidates,there are only 4 attempts but you'll be happy to know that for the OBC candidates,the number of attempts are 7!!!

So start preparing for the exam and do hard work!!!

Eligibility criteria for IES conducted by upsc:

Candidate must have completed graduation or Engineering from a recognized university .

candidates who appearing in final year of graduation or engineering can also apply for the upsc exams.

Age limit for the upsc exams is 21 to 30 years.
Age relaxation of 3 years is given to those candidates who belongs to OBC category.
Age relaxation of 5 years is given to those candidates who belongs to sc category.

~~4 attempts for General category candidates
~~7 attempts for OBC category candidates
